Our 8-yr-old daughter has Asperger’s, and I have been looking for help like this for years to be able to help her cope and to minimize and avoid the meltdowns she experiences…

Not a day goes by when I don’t receive an email from a tired and frustrated mom at the end of her tether asking me…
In fact I recently received an email from a very desperate mum (Chrissy) who was really being put through the ringer by her son (Paul).
* Poor sleep pattern – Where Chrissy had to move heaven and earth every single night just to get Paul to bed (for even just a few hours sleep.) * Explosive behaviors – Paul would regularly lash out at Chrissy, as well as his young sister, for no apparent good reason. * Being ignored – Paul would always act like he "knew best" and whatever his mum said was wrong (often he would just completely "blank her" when she was trying to talk to him).
* Low self-esteem – Paul had very low self worth and at times even threatened suicide (which was just devastating for Chrissy to hear).
* Shouting and screaming – If Chrissy tried to ask Paul to do simple chores like picking up his clothes off the floor, then he would shout and scream at her. To be honest Chrissy was at her wit’s end and crying out for help, and I bet you can relate to some of her problems too.
Now I hate to see any parents in such a distressed state … So I was anxious to help… I spoke with Chrissy and to my horror was told that Paul was on 2 very strong anti-psychotic medications (and he’s only a kid for goodness sakes!)… And he had already seen FIVE different doctors (none of which had offered hope or inspiration to poor old Chrissy and Paul). During several years of medical catastrophe; Paul had been rattling like a pill box with all the damaging drugs he’d been taking.
Harsh? Let me explain… Look you can take your car to 3 different mechanics and basically their "diagnosis’s" are guesses until they really pop the hood and start poking around… And as a result lots of people get "opinions" on their cars that… Read more…
